Movies that belong
to the PEOPLE
No GATEKEEPERS
No STUDIOS
No EXECUTIVES
No AI
MISSION STATEMENT
The Peoples Cinema exists to put filmmaking back into the hands of the people. We support the film industry, wanting to fund real projects through community participation, and remove gatekeepers between ideas and execution. No waiting on Hollywood. Just human stories made by human filmmakers.
Are we not tired of seeing the same films recycled in theatres? The same few streaming platforms deciding what gets seen? Do we not miss the “just for fun” films, or the ones that took a real chance on something fresh and unexpected?
This is a space built for that return.
The Peoples Cinema is not built around profit extraction. NO ONE takes ownership profit from this system. There are no sole producers benefiting from the work. All money goes directly into the making of films, and any revenue generated is reinvested entirely back into new productions. It is a continuous, self-sustaining cycle for creation.
At its core, this is about keeping filmmaking alive. As Studios pivots toward cheaper production models, shrinking crews, and AI-driven replacement of creative jobs, this system is designed to support the filmmakers, artists, technicians, and storytellers who still want to create meaningful human stories without compromise, and without losing the ability to make a living doing what they love, and what we all love to see.
Human Art.
The Peoples Cinema is a living, recurring ecosystem for film.
Built by the people, for the people.
HOW A NEW
MODEL FOR
FILMMAKING
WORKS
The Peoples Cinema (TPC) is a community-powered film movement built around one idea:
Great stories shouldn’t depend on studios, executives, gatekeepers, or algorithms.
Instead of relying on a handful of investors or corporations to decide what gets made, TPC allows thousands of people
to collectively fund and grow independent film projects together.
Every member becomes part of the process.
THE CORE IDEA
The Peoples Cinema operates through small monthly contributions from a large community of supporters.
STEP 1.
COMMUNITY
BUILDS.
Members contribute monthly to help fund original film projects.
The goal is not massive individual investment.
For example:
100,000 members
Contributing $3 USD per month
This creates:
$300,000 per month in collective funding.
Instead of one studio financing a film, the community builds the budget together.
STEP 2.
FUNDS GROW.
Example:
After 6 months:
$300,000×6=$1,800,000
The community now has approximately $1.8 million available for production.
That budget is then used to finance a film project created under the TPC model.
STEP 3.
PRODUCTION.
The collected budget goes directly into filmmaking:
•cast
•crew
•locations
•equipment
•production
•post-production
•marketing
•distribution
TPC is designed to prioritize filmmakers, crews, and creative professionals by reinvesting directly into film production and community employment rather than executive overhead.
The goal is to create a sustainable filmmaking ecosystem where artists, technicians, and storytellers are continually supported through ongoing productions funded by the audience itself.
STEP 4.
FILM RELEASE
Once completed, the project is distributed to audiences through:
•theatres
•streaming
•digital platforms
•festivals
•community screenings
STEP 5.
REVENUE
RETURNS
Revenue generated from the project does not disappear into a studio system.
Instead:
•a portion is shared with the crew and creatives involved; 10%
•the majority returns back into TPC fund; 90%
Example from the diagram:
10% shared with crew/profit participation (we believe this aids in a stronger workforce and overall quality): $100,000 / 100 crew = $1000.00/crew bonus.
90% returned into the TPC ecosystem: $900,000
This allows successful projects to help finance future projects.
STEP 6.
CYCLE REPEATS
The returned revenue combines with continued monthly contributions from members.
This creates a larger budget for the next production.
Example:
Returning project revenue: $900,000
New community contributions over 6 months: $1.8 million
Combined total:
$900,000+1,800,000 = $2,700,000
Now the next project can be produced with a larger budget and greater creative reach. OR, multiple projects can launch at the same time expanding the reach and employment opportunities.
As the community grows, the production capacity grows with it.
